Pack it in, pack it out - no garbage service, no maintenance is provided. Serves as a passive open space area with limited trails.

No Alcohol in Chimacum Passive Open Space Area
“In the State of Washington it is illegal to open or consume alcoholic beverages in a public place" (see Title 66.44.100 of the RCW). This law applies in all Jefferson County parks, campgrounds, and recreation facilities. Exceptions to this law can be granted by the Washington State Liquor Control Board (see Title 314 of the WAC) in the form of a banquet permit or a special occasion license for example. All proposals to serve alcohol at an event in a Jefferson County Park are subject to approval by Jefferson County. Metal Detecting
Metal detecting is allowed in the following Jefferson County Parks with a permit: 
  • Cape George Trailhead Park
  • Gibbs Lake Park 
  • Chimacum Park
  • Lake Leland Park and Campground 
  • Quilcene Park and Campground
If you are interested in metal detecting, sign up for an account if you don't already have one and fill out the Metal Detecting Permit. This free permit lasts for 1 year and is saved to your account.
